Teachers at the Rafael María Baralt National Experimental University, in the state of Zulia, received intensive training in educational robotics as part of the call made by the Bolivarian Government to advance the training of Venezuelan professionals to enhance scientific-technological knowledge and strengthen competencies in this area.
This activity was promoted by the Foundation for the Development of Science and Technology (FUNDACITE) in the state, together with the Infocentro Foundation, involving teachers from the municipalities of Cabimas and Maracaibo.
The training, according to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MINCYT), included four modules. The first aimed at fundamentals of electronics, where basic concepts were addressed to understand the operation of the components used in robotics.
Then, they learned about programming with Arduino, which allowed them to develop skills to use the C++ programming language on this platform.
In the programming module with mBlock, teachers learned about visual programming using blocks, which makes it easier to create robotic programs. And, finally, they built and programmed Ultimate 2.0 robots, to apply the knowledge acquired.
These training sessions prepare university teachers to integrate robotics into their classrooms, encouraging the development of skills such as computational thinking, problem solving and creativity in their students.
