This Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Yemen issued a strong institutional statement to condemn the recent air attacks perpetrated by the armed forces of Saudi Arabia against civilian infrastructure and strategic installations in the regions of Hudaydah and Saada.

Given the persistence of these hostile operations, Yemeni government authorities warned that their Armed Forces will carry out forceful response actions aimed at vital objectives located deep inside Saudi territory.

From Sana'a, the state administration confirmed the irrevocability of its sovereign demands and confirmed the formal incorporation of critical infrastructure facilities of the Saudi kingdom into its map of priority military objectives. This increase in confrontation responds to a scenario of high regional volatility, which intensified after the establishment of the maritime blockade implemented since last July 20 against vessels associated with Riyadh.

The restrictive measure on maritime routes was adopted by the Yemeni authorities as a direct response mechanism to more than a decade of military interventions, prolonged siege and geopolitical interference backed by the United States (US) in the region. The Yemeni Government reiterated that defensive actions will remain in force as long as the aggressions against the population and the national territory continue.

The Foreign Office held the international coalition responsible for the consequences of this escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, while reaffirming the commitment of the State of Yemen to the defense of its territorial sovereignty, the protection of its citizens and the restoration of strategic balance in the area.
