Xiomara Castro to Ecuador: We reject these acts that violate peaceful coexistence between states

This Monday, Xiomara Castro, president of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), kicked off the Summit of Heads of State to discuss the assault on the Mexican embassy in Quito, capital of Ecuador.
Castro described the action carried out by the government of Daniel Noboa as the excessive use of force, and in turn, he condemned the kidnapping of former Vice President Jorge Glass. “We reject these acts that violate peaceful coexistence between States.”
“Any attempt to violate and ignore the legacy constitutes a violation of State sovereignty. He urged Ecuador to redirect appropriate regulations and grant the required safe conduct,” he said.
In addition, the president of CELAC expressed the community's concern about the current state of health of former Vice President Glass, “we request the formation of a special commission of member countries to verify adequate medical care.”
