The Diploma in Traditional Venezuelan Handmade Wristwear opened its registration process in the state of Yaracuy, aimed at wristbands, artisans, cultivators, teachers and the general public. Those interested can register until October 31.

Arnaldo Yarza, representative of the Red Art Foundation in San Felipe, reported that classes will take place in the municipalities of San Felipe and Páez for five months, as part of a joint initiative with the Samuel Robinson National Experimental Teaching University (UNEM), under the impetus of the Great Mission Viva Venezuela, My Beloved Homeland and the Artisan Heart Movement.

“The traditional doll in Venezuela is not a simple decorative object or a toy; it is a support where the living history of our communities is written and an expression of cultural resistance,” he said.

The training program will address popular narratives, the cultural cartography of the trade and the techniques of making dolls with cloth, clay and fibers, with the purpose of preserving this tradition as part of the Venezuelan cultural identity.

The training is supported by the Ministerial Cabinet of Culture in Yaracuy, the Yaracuy State Institute of Culture (ICEY) and the Government. For information about registration and meeting places, interested parties can contact 0412-1798205 and 0414-5604662.
