This Tuesday, the government of Gabriel Boric in Chile celebrates three years since he came to power. The commemoration coincides with the start of a three-day strike in primary health care.

The strike responds to a series of unresolved demands by the Executive. Among them, the lack of security in primary care centers classified as high-risk.

Besides security, it's not the industry's only concern. Social movements also demand non-compliance in the provision of resources aimed at strengthening primary care and the delay in paying an early retirement bonus for workers who have already completed their years of service.

The strike has spread to several cities in the country, including Santiago and Viña del Mar. Although no mobilizations have been scheduled in the capital for the first day of the protest, marches are expected to take place on Wednesday and Thursday in different locations.
