The young Venezuelan battering ram, David Martínez scored a goal in his first game as a starter with Los Angeles FC and advances to the semifinals of the US Open Cup.
The Venezuelan scored the second goal for Los Angeles FC in the 37th minute, which ended up defeating New Mexico 3-1.
This is the second goal for juveniles since their arrival on US soil.
“Happy for the victory and for the goal that gives me much more confidence, after returning from an injury that kept me away from the courts,” Martinez said in statements to the press.
The Venezuelan team will face Seattle Sounders in the semifinals of the traditional cup tournament.
