According to the description of who will occupy the American embassy in 2006, William Brownfield, Secretary General Adeco “is unimaginative, presumptuous and even repellent”
- Ten years ago, through an official cable published in the Correo del Orinoco, it was revealed that the US embassy in Caracas not only discredited the political role of Henry Ramos Allup, as sectarian and inefficient, but that the privileges and money requested daily by his party from the proconsul of the empire in Venezuela also came to light.
- Among the millions of documents collected by Wikileaks, there is Democratic Action (AD) as a political party led by leaders from Pedigueño, kneeling before the gifts and perks they obtained from the US embassy in Caracas.
- To the profile of Ramos Allup, described by Ambassador Brownfield as “arrogant, lacking judgment and repellent”, he adds that far from proposing formulas for the unity of his party, what he does is insult the senior staff of the party and direct his begging for the international community to provide him with money.
- The leaked document indicates that Ramos Allup also disrespects anyone who competes with him in receiving American support in obtaining scholarships, petitions, benefits and visas for his friends.
- Brownfield even added that Ramos Allup is the main problem with AD, due to his influences that make him show an “ordinary, abrupt, arrogant and susceptible” temperament. His style is very different from that of President Hugo Chávez.”
- Another member of Democratic Action who frequented that diplomatic headquarters was Pedro Pablo Alcántara, who also bowed to obtain imperial favors and privileges.
- On the other hand, the Spanish newspaper El País went further, describing Henry Ramos Allup as a bragger, unimaginative, with a tendency to live on his increasingly obsolete laurels when he was the head of the most important opposition party.
