The deputy to the National Assembly, Diosdado Cabello, confirmed this Wednesday that the United States government is behind all the guerrilla actions of Guyana in the midst of the territorial controversy over the Essequibo territory, after the authorization of the presence of the Southern Command in this territory by the Guyanese president, Irfaan Ali.

“What does Southern Command have to do with this? Who's behind it? Is the government of Guyana there? Behind all this is North American imperialism with its companies and corporations that have destroyed the world,” Cabello answered the questions, in an extraordinary session of Parliament.

During the first discussion of the draft Organic Law for the Defense of Guiana Esequiba, the parliamentarian recalled that Exxon Mobil has made profits of more than 25 billion dollars from oil exploitation in the undelimited sea, of which it has only given 3 billion to Guyana.

“This business belongs to imperialism and when the puppet that governs Guyana threatens us that he is going to summon the Southern Command, we see that he does not know the history of Venezuela, our people. We are not declaring war on anyone, but we have said it over and over again that we are acting in accordance with the Law and our Constitution to guarantee that no one will take an inch of our territory from us,” he emphasized.
