This Monday, March 25, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, walked with the People to the headquarters of the National Electoral Council (CNE) to formalize the candidacy of President Nicolás Maduro as the standard-bearer of the red awning.

In the heat of the slogans and charged with great patriotic fervor, the leader of the red awning referred to this fact, which he described as historic, highlighting:

• “With the joy, enthusiasm and love for the Homeland that characterizes it is to realize the dream of the person for whom we are here, here we are because of Commander Chávez, the Eternal Commander, thanks to the fact that he opened the way to peace, to tranquility, which today is consolidated by the Bolivarian Revolution.”

• “On July 28, Venezuela has a new appointment with history to continue building the future that belongs to all of us, without exclusion, with the broadest criteria of the Government.”

He also highlighted the efforts, sacrifice and resistance of the Venezuelan people to overcome adversities and plans promoted by imperialism, emphasizing:

• “Despite all the attacks, there Venezuela is in economic recovery and now we are going for the comprehensive economic recovery that reaches each and every Venezuelan.”

In this regard, he highlighted the role played by President Nicolás Maduro to whom, on behalf of the PSUV, he entrusted this candidacy under the premise:

• The People explained the reasons why brother President Nicolás Maduro should be our candidate. Today we are here endorsing and honoring what the People of Venezuela ordered, to what the rank and file of our party said to nominate brother President Nicolás Maduro.

• “We place the destiny of the Homeland in your hands and we know that you will never disappoint this people, always on the path of Commander Chávez.”

Regarding the confidence of the socialist tent in the work of the CNE, he did not hesitate to exalt the virtues of this Venezuelan power, stating that:

• “These elections will be made by the best electoral body in much of the world, if not the best in the world.”

• “Each of its workers is effectively committed to doing things right.”
