This Monday, April 07, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, led the weekly press conference of the red awning, in which he touched on various issues of national and international interest.

In this regard, he emphasized that while there are sectors that are fighting, the Bolivarian Revolution is already prepared in perfect unity for the elections on May 25.

  • “We have already defined our candidates for governorships, defined the colleagues who go through the Great Patriotic Pole (GPP) to the National Assembly (AN), to the Legislative Councils, in perfect union, as a great team, the team of the Bolivarian Revolution.”
  • “All this is part of the participatory and leading democracy that exists in Venezuela, real, direct, of our people, let the people decide”
  • “In 48 days, in 7 weeks, there will be elections in this country for governors, National Assembly and State Legislative Councils, a tight schedule, each governor will present his government plan at the time of registration, a work done in accordance with the Homeland Plan and the 7 Transformations.”
  • “It's not the National Electoral Council (CNE) that agrees to assign candidates, it's the parties.”
  • “In the opposition there is no unity, there are small islands, there is no relationship, there is no communication between them... Since April 2, no one writes on social media: “What are they up to?”
  • “Let's go straight to this week's nominations, Holy Week and then the campaign that we all need to do for the big event... April 27 is the popular consultation for the projects of the commune and ready for the elections of May 25 with a great Popular Victory of the Revolutionary Forces”.

He also highlighted that from Venezuela the voice continues to be raised in support of Venezuelan migrants who are persecuted and mistreated in the world.

  • “We continue to collect signatures in defense of migrants across the country; that is house to house and in all the Bolivar Squares in the country, all the state, municipal and parish political teams in that task.”
  • “We receive our migrants after having been mistreated, harassed, spent days without eating; without having committed any crime, they are persecuted, captured and thrown out, but here they are received as brothers and whoever has an outstanding account with justice will have to face justice.”
  • “Fascism arrived and they thought they were part of that film; what we always say: they use them but they don't invite them to Christmas dinner after partying with Trump; it turns out that the man expels them from there and they come to Venezuela and here (...) anyone who behaves that kind of cruelty against the people applies Venezuelan laws.”
  • “Let everyone assume their responsibility, because the Venezuelans who left were not committing any crime, they simply left and are received as brothers”

In addition, he called on the Venezuelan people to be alert to silence in the networks of the Venezuelan extreme right. As well as, he indicated that fascism never rests, but in Venezuela it will continue to fight.

  • “Check the networks of the opposition sectors since April 2, none of them have made use of them; knowing their evil, they are plotting something.”
  • Marco Rubio recently went to Guyana. “What do you think it was? To give orders to the Exxonmobil employee that surely have to do with our Guiana Essequiba”
  • “They have already tried a false flag operation against our country, no wonder they want to try something for our Guiana Essequiba”
  • “We have responded to Marco Rubio: You can't intimidate this people, with that or with anything”
  • Fascism must be combated, as the Bolivarian Revolution has done on every battle front, now on the way to regional and legislative elections on May 25.
  • “It has been proven, over and over again, that there are no political prisoners here. Here there are terrorists, fascists, people who tried to assassinate another, people who murdered others and others.”
  • “They don't say anything about what the (Donald) Trump administration is doing with Venezuelans. They remain silent about the atrocities being carried out by the United States government against migrant people. Oh, because he's their boss (...) We do raise our voices for all Venezuelans wherever they are. They have no right to be persecuted like the United States government is doing.”
  • “Check the faces of those who were in the Miraflores Palace, check the faces of those who openly participated in the coup d'etat, in the oil strike, check the faces who they are. Those have come and gone (...) What Bolívar said is fulfilled: 'Every conspiracy comes a pardon and with every new forgiveness a new conspiracy'”.
  • “That's what we can do, let's not expect anything from them (the extreme opposition right). Fascism cannot be cured overnight. Fascism must be combated. And I think that so far fascism has zero points and peace and quiet have 10. We haven't won, but we're beating fascism.”

He also mentioned the logic of the massive protests that have taken place in the United States (USA) and other parts of the world against the policies of the Donald Trump Administration.

  • Trump wasn't elected president of the world or emperor of the world by the people of the United States, they elected him president of the United States. It's logical for the people of that country to complain about him because he hasn't governed for his people.”
  • Trump must find a way “to govern for the 70 million people who eat only once a day. He will have to govern to see how he deals with young people who are dying from drug use. They will have to govern to see how they can truly solve the economic problem for the United States.”
  • “It seems that tariffs are not the most advisable thing, I say from the world's answers. Escalating from there doesn't benefit the American people at all. Hopefully they will dedicate themselves to governing for their people and will solve the enormous problems that exist within that country.”
