This Friday, November 22, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, led the installation of the World Congress of Anti-Fascist Youth, in which 1,000 national and international delegates participate.

In this regard, during his speech, the also sectoral vice-president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace reaffirmed Venezuela's solidarity with the peoples who are today victims of fascism.

  • “I want to begin by expressing our total and absolute solidarity, affection, admiration and respect for the Palestinian people, who today continue to be massacred by fascism, to the Palestinian people who today resist and fight for their integrity, for their sovereignty and independence, our love and eternal respect.”
  • “The people of Russia who have decided to start the fight against fascism again and we have no doubt that Russia will defeat fascism again, wear whatever colors it is and whatever support it has.”
  • Greetings to the people of Mozambique who, today like Venezuela, are facing the same struggles and attacks as our Homeland.

Cabello also highlighted the link between imperialism and this scourge that today plagues and appears in many parts of the world and has its mechanism of manipulation and domination.

  • “If anything pushes fascism, it's imperialism, behind fascism is imperialism.”
  • “We've seen that movie. We here, in America, experienced the coup d'etat to put an end to progressive governments (...) Venezuela, Chile, Argentina and Paraguay experienced it, America experienced it and people shyly said 'the United States is behind', today no one says it is behind it, the whole world says today the US is at the forefront of the coup d'etat ; there is no coup d'etat in the world that does not have the blessing of imperialism (...) Fascism appears in many places today and people still say 'imperialism is behind', no imperialism is not behind, imperialism is leading and promoting world fascism”.
  • “Today we could say that the United States is destined to plague the world with misery in the name of the freedom they proclaim.”
  • Fascism has “many ways of settling in, mimicking itself, of adapting its presence and we only become aware when very regrettable things happen”.
  • Fascism has its mechanisms of domination, of manipulation, it has the big media, Hollywood and now social networks.
  • “In the movies, we saw how the bad guys in Vietnam hurt the good guys in the gringos, and that's how they sold it, wrote it and recorded it; and that's how the world managed it.”
  • The truth is that U.S. imperialism tried to wipe out the people of Vietnam solely because they decided to be free.”
  • They sold to the world that Christopher Columbus had discovered America. “That's not so, Columbus was lost and America saved him.”
  • Before that man arrived in Venezuela, there was a great culture here and they went so far as to destroy everything in the name of civilization, they brought us their religion, they taught us to read the Bible and when we realized that they had kept our wealth, they were taking everything, even the lives of our people.”

He also referred to what Venezuela had to experience in the face of fascism driven by sectors of the extreme right in the country.

      • “Fascism here (in Venezuela) is drawn, it is mimicked with the national bourgeoisie, so we call the last names of a lifetime, those who think they own Venezuela, well not owners, administrators, because the owners think they are others and they managed it.”
      • With the support of the United States (USA), “they have tried in Venezuela to end our people, they persecuted us (...) those who lost the elections and do not know how to lose”.
      • “When they win (the extremists) everything works, they recognize the electoral body, when they lose they come out saying that there is fraud, that's why I told them that fascism is disguised in a thousand ways, they become persecutors of their own people.”
      • “They know that we are going to face them, Venezuela is a territory of peace, of tranquility.”
      • “We open our arms and our hearts here to all who come and to you especially because we are militants of the same cause, of the same struggle, you in your countries and we are here, but it is the same fight.”
      • Any place in the world can count on Venezuela “to fight this battle and this international anti-fascist youth front is fundamental, as part of that great block of struggle against fascism. It has to be the engine, the energy so that there is not a single country left in the world where there is no response to any expression of fascism that goes beyond condemnation (...) fascism must be confronted and defeated”.
      • You cannot negotiate with fascism, “because they have neither principles, nor values, nor words”.
      • “These days Venezuela is becoming the cradle of the fight against fascism and you young students are becoming the vanguard for the world of the fight against fascism. Welcome to the Homeland of Bolivar, Chávez and comrade President Nicolás Maduro, welcome to this Homeland Venezuela that is and will always be free of fascism”.

In addition, Cabello took the opportunity to question the role of the United Nations (UN) in the face of this scourge.

      • “What is the United Nations for? Someone who can name an achievement? We could say that the UN is passive and calm with those countries that are exterminating peoples.”
      •  International organizations are playing in favor of fascism. The UN has done nothing about the imperial blockade that Cuba has been experiencing for more than sixty years.
      • “Let us not expect anything from the UN, let us do it, you girls and boys of the world, set great goals and that these meetings be repeated to unite us in the fight for peace.”
