The weightlifter Katherine Echandía (49kg) won her place at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
This
was reported by the Minister of Popular Power for Youth and Sports, Mervin Maldonado, through
a message posted on his account on the social network X, where he congratulated the athlete
for the achievement.
With Echandía, 18 Venezuelans have qualified
for the world event, in 9 disciplines.
Echandía, at just 22 years old, broke two national records: 108 kg in envión and 193 kg in total.
