Wearing the emblematic typical costume of Liqui Liqui, this Friday is July 26th, Venezuelan athletes made their triumphant entry to the opening ceremony of the great Olympic event.

The Liqui Liqui costume, symbol of national identity, was presented in a shade of blue, adorned with 8 white stars, accompanied by a traditional lanero hat.

The 33 athletes that make up the Venezuelan delegation, together with the more than 6,000 athletes participating in the 2024 Olympic Games, sailed along the Sena River, as part of the opening ceremony.

The judoka Anriquelis Barrios together with the weightlifter, Julio Mayora, were in charge of carrying the national flag.

At the last minute, Barrios replaced Yulimar Rojas, who was the flag bearer, but since she will not be able to compete due to her injury, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) requested that another athlete be appointed.

The Olympic Games will take place until August 11, being the twentieth Olympic participation for Venezuela, this time with a delegation of 33 qualified in 12 disciplines.

In the Olympic Games, Venezuela has won a total of 21 medals since it began participating in the London edition of 1948, of which 4 medals are gold, 7 silver and 10 bronze.

The only Venezuelans to win Olympic gold are boxer Francisco Rodríguez in Mexico 1968, taekwondo player Arlindo Gouveia in Barcelona 1992, Rubén Limardo in London 2012 and Yulimar Rojas in Tokyo 2020.
