This Thursday, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin arrived in the People's Republic of China, on his first visit abroad after his inauguration, to hold a meeting with his counterpart Xi Jinping.

The Russian president was greeted by the Asian head of state in Tiananmen Square, near the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, where the Russian-Chinese negotiations will take place.

Putin and Xi hold negotiations in a reduced format and then a meeting will be held in an expanded format with the participation of members of the Russian Government.

During Putin's visit, both leaders will “address in detail the full range of issues of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation, identify key directions for the further development of practical Russian-Chinese cooperation, exchange views on the most relevant international issues” and finally sign a joint statement and a series of bilateral documents.
