On November 11, 2003, Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez Frías inaugurated the National Public Television Station Vision Venezuela, better known as VIVE TV, at the National Library located in Caracas.

After airing the VIVE TV signal on Ultra High Frequency (UHF) channel 24, Commander Chávez said that this was “a memorable day because the whole country and the world is witnessing the great communication battle that is taking place in Venezuela. Here we are fighting the media dictatorship, which is a factor that has become a reality in many parts of the world, but especially in these countries of ours.”

“It's called VIVE because there will never be room for death, it's a channel that lives because it's a people that lives. This is a television station that is constantly calling to life”, that was the thought of founder Blanca Eekout and Commander Chávez, who conceived this television station as a reference for healthy entertainment, dedicated to the people and communities, which is why it was named “Vision Venezuela”.

This channel was born with the mission of forming a national and continental communication network through which cultural, educational and informational images and messages can be disseminated in order to deepen participatory and proactive democracy.

This television station became the educational reference for distance classes in 2020 and part of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
