Next Friday, May 10, Afro-Venezuelan Day is celebrated , and the best way to celebrate it is with the inauguration of the Viva Venezuela World Festival, a historic and unforgettable event for Venezuelan culture.

This was highlighted this Monday by the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, through social networks, and reiterated that Venezuelan culture will take the “Simón Bolívar” Monumental Stadium and then deploy to Caracas, Miranda and La Guaira.

In addition, the head of culture summoned all the makers of culture for this great event. “The stands will be a stage: carry your drum, your four, your maracas and other musical instruments with traditional roots,” he said.

He recalled that admission is free and the invitation is open to all Venezuelans. The general public must be present at the stadium starting at 1:00 in the afternoon. At the same time, he highlighted that they are working with the Afro-Venezuelan movement and the Promoting Team of the Great Mission Viva Venezuela, My Dear Patria, to achieve mass participation in the festival.

He stressed that it will be a tribute to the enslaved rebellion led by José Leonardo Chirino in 1795.

This first festival will run until May 19 and includes the participation of other countries, specifically Angola, Algeria, Congo, Guinea Bissau, Egypt, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Senegal, Honduras, Mexico, Barbados, Palestine, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Iran, Bolivia, China, Turkey, Russia, Tunisia, Ivory Coast and Portugal.
