On September 2, 1945 , President Ho Chi Minh demonstrated in Ba Dinh Square, where he read the Proclamation of Independence and established the birth of the Republic, marking the end of the domination of Japanese fascism and French colonialism, thus ending Vietnam's feudal regime.

At the juncture of the defeat of Japan, which had occupied the country after the surrender of the French colonial administration, the historic declaration took place, a hitherto unprecedented event, since the territory was freed from colonialism in Africa and Asia through the struggle of its patriotic fighters.

Ho Chi Minh, in the Declaration of Independence of Vietnam, began it by arguing through texts that were more than 150 years old, taken from the Declaration of Independence of the United States of 1779 and the Declaration of the Rights of Men and Citizens of the French Revolution of 1791, in which he proclaimed and affirmed the rights of all people to life, liberty, equality and happiness.

Vietnam proudly celebrates the success that made the struggle of the Vietnamese people the first country in the region to achieve independence after the violent Second World War.
