Vietnam: Authorities announce that 65 people have died as a result of Typhoon Yagi

This Tuesday, the authorities in Vietnam raised the number of fatalities due to the passage of Typhoon Yagi, which hit the country last Saturday and which left heavy rains, floods and landslides.

The heavy rains have left 750 injured and some 48,000 homes damaged and 150,000 hectares of rice fields affected by the Yagi.

The typhoon has been considered to be the strongest in 2024 in Asia, which reached Vietnam with winds of up to 149 kilometers per hour, Telesur said.

According to the latest report from the Vietnamese emergency agency, most of the victims occurred in the north of the country, mainly in the provinces of Cao Bang and Lao Cai.
