Vice President Rodríguez: This Christmas, e-commerce increased by 97% in the country

E-commerce in Venezuela increased by 97% during the month of December, said the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, during her participation in the program Maduro Live de Repente, hosted by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

He added that between December 20 and 26, there were more than 232 million transactions related to the Digital Bolivar.

He also stated that this figure exceeds 190 million transactions compared to the same date in 2023.

“Between December 23 and 24 of this year alone, 60 million transactions were made,” he said.

Rodríguez stressed that the shopping spirit of the Venezuelan people on the streets and in shopping malls was an unprecedented event. “Activity in shopping centers increased by 81% compared to the previous year; while in supermarkets the figure was 35%,” he said.

He pointed out that the People have been wise because they regained peace through economy, culture and joy. “We must return to our cultural roots and identity and so we are closing the year 2024,” he said.

For her part, the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, said that with Christmas shopping in the town there was also an increase in solid waste collection.

“Two thousand 200 tons of solid waste are collected in one week, while at Christmas, for each day, 1,900 tons are collected,” he said.
