Vice President Rodríguez and OPEC Secretary meet with Venezuelan oil workers

The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, and the Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Haitham Al Ghais, held a meeting this Tuesday with oil, petrochemical and gas workers in the country.

During the assembly, Vice President Rodríguez highlighted the relevance of the visit of the Secretary General of OPEC to Venezuela, stressing that the nation is committed to the union of oil-producing countries.

“Count on all the support of Venezuela to continue working to unite our organization and, above all, to defend the sovereign right that countries with energy wealth have to balanced and shared development,” Rodríguez said, while highlighting the essential role of workers in national development, whose work is crucial for the future of the country.

He added that “global energy demand is heading towards new poles with the leadership of countries of the global south.” Meanwhile, Al Ghais thanked the invitation and recognized PDVSA's significant contribution to global energy.

“You are the rock that supports this industry to grow, your work is important to the world,” said the Secretary General of OPEC, quoted in a press release from the Executive Vice Presidency.
