The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, announced this Friday that the country will join the BRICS group (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, its founding members), which represents a great global economic power.

During his participation in the National Council for Productive Economy, Anzoátegui chapter, Rodríguez pointed out that the BRICS have already surpassed the group of seven (G7), made up of “powers in decline”, mainly the United States (USA).

“Who is in the BRICS? Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa; the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and others have already joined, and Venezuela, which is going to officially enter this year (...) we are talking about the giants of the world's economy, the giants because that's where the biggest oil and gas producers on the planet are there,” said the Vice President.

He indicated that Venezuela will begin to export gas “for the first time in its history to diversify the economy, and we have achieved this with a blockade, imagine if there were no criminal sanctions, we would take them all ahead, but quickly, like a rocket, but otherwise we will go up.”
