Vice President Delcy Rodríguez responds to threats from the president of Exxon Mobil

The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, rejected this Wednesday the “threatening statements” of the president of Exxon Mobil, Alistair Routledge, regarding cooperation between Guyana and the United States (USA) in the field of security.

Through his account on the social network X, Rodríguez criticized that “this transnational energy company not only subrogates the sovereignty of Guyana, it governs the highest authorities of that country, encourages the illegitimate path of the International Court of Justice to the detriment of the Geneva Agreement, but it also seeks to protect its illegal operations, in a sea pending to be delimited, under the warmongering mantle of the United States in complicity with Guyana”.

The senior official of the Bolivarian Government stated that these actions “clearly violate the Argyle Accords and international legality,” and reiterated that “Venezuela will not rest on the defense of the Essequibo and will assert its rights in all circumstances that arise.”
