The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, recalled this Tuesday the words of Commander Hugo Chávez, on March 26, 1994, when he left the “Prison of Dignity”, in Yare, to build together with the People a process of profound social transformations for the country.

“We ask the Venezuelan people to accompany us, as one man, in the search for the structural transformation that this people require,” Rodríguez quoted the statements of the Supreme Leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, “that joyous #26Mar of 1994 after leaving prison in Yare, where he was imprisoned for two years for combating neoliberal measures.”

Through her account on the social network X, the senior official of the Bolivarian Government stated that “with Chávez, hope was in the street”.

“I'm going to the catacombs to accompany the people”, with this promise Commander Chávez was released that day to restore hope to Venezuelans, after being locked up for 2 years by the military rebellion he commanded on February 4, 1992, in response to the neoliberal measures imposed by the government of Carlos Andrés Pérez.
