The Executive Vice President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, said this Wednesday that Brazil could not rationally sustain the veto against the Bolivarian country to stop its entry into the BRICS, and stressed that “this veto is irrational, that veto is one of hate, of envy”, she denies the essence of the economic block.
From Hanoi, where he gave an account of his official visit to Vietnam, Rodríguez indicated that “let's hope that Itamaraty (Brazilian Foreign Ministry) does not become the BRICS Trojan horse, because that new world has already been born.”
“What Brazil has done only shows deep envy to Venezuela because they believe that we can be the competition, instead of understanding ourselves as what we are, countries that are in the same region, and how we can add our complementarities and our potentialities to promote our region,” said the Executive Vice President.
He noted that the representative of Brazilian diplomacy, Mauro Vieira, “lied to the President of Venezuela, he lied to the Vice President, he lied to the Foreign Minister, and he lied to the Venezuelan people. He thought he was doing harm to Venezuela, but in reality what Itamaraty did was violate Article 4 of the Constitution of Brazil, which orders his Government to establish relations of integration and regional union.”
Finally, he noted that Venezuela had an extraordinary performance at the XVI BRICS Summit in Kazan, “and for that we thanked President (Vladimir) Putin and his Government, where Venezuela received the support of all countries, except the Foreign Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which dug its grave and a terrible page in its history,” he concluded.
