The Venezuelan State allocates more than 25 million dollars a month to the purchase of basic supplies for emergency areas and operating rooms in the country's healthcare centers, said the Deputy Minister of Hospitals, Mauricio Vega.

In statements collected by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), Vega reaffirmed that guaranteeing free medical services and strengthening the National Public Health System are priority and fundamental objectives of the National Executive.

“The first thing we have to guarantee in all spaces, regardless of the administration, is free of charge,” he said.

Vega said that, despite the challenges arising from the blockade and sanctions, waiting lists for surgical interventions in hospitals have been reduced to the point of disappearing.

In labor matters, he noted that improving the purchasing power of health workers is one of President Delcy Rodríguez's priorities. In this regard, he explained that hospital and outpatient staff receive bonuses, including the war bonus and the healthcare bonus.

“One of the president's priorities, in addition to health, is precisely to improve people's purchasing power,” she said.

The Deputy Minister also highlighted the importance of recovering professional ethics, work mysticism and humane treatment in healthcare centers.
