The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, held a diplomatic meeting with the first woman elected president of Namibia, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, as part of his work agenda in the African country.
During the meeting, the Venezuelan foreign minister emphasized Nandi-Ndaitwah's commitment to world peace and “we take this opportunity to congratulate her and wish her every success in her presidential administration.”
“Venezuela and Namibia have cultivated a strong friendship and have collaborated in various social and economic areas, within the framework of South-South integration and cooperation. We are committed to continuing to expand this valuable relationship in the coming years,” said the minister.
Nandi-Ndaitwah won the electoral victory registering 58 percent of the votes last November as the candidate of the Southwest African People's Organization (SWAPO) party
