Venezuelan film “Julia has a sugar” was recognized at the Global Films Festival Noida in India

The Venezuelan film “Julia has a Sugar” won the Distinction Award, at the 17th edition of the Global Films Festival Noida in La India, for the high level of its cinematographic and production proposal.

According to information from Venezolana de Televisión, the recognition for the feature film directed by Venezuelan José Antonio Varela was received by the Venezuelan ambassador to the Republic of India, Capaya Rodríguez, from the hands of Sandeep Marwah, president of the Festival.

In that regard, Rodríguez thanked the prize and the festival organization for the invitation to our country to participate in the event, while commenting to the audience of filmmakers and students from that nation, about the potential of Venezuelan cinema, not only from its locations, but also from its stories and peculiarities.

The award-winning feature film is a fun romantic comedy that tells the story of Julia, an optimistic and determined woman, who is going through a difficult time, after losing her job the same week that she is evicted from her home.

The event also included the participation of films from 19 countries: Austria, Cyprus, North Korea, Ghana, Iran, Lithuania, Morocco, Palestine, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Suriname, Tunisia, Vietnam, Zimbabwe and Venezuela, and was organized by the International Film and Television Club and Marwah Studios.
