Venezuelan athletes Charlie Alviarez and Mailliw Rojas won silver and bronze medals at the World Skating Championships in Asunción, Paraguay, as they appeared on the podiums of the road and track modalities.

In the 15,000 meter road race, Mirandina Alviarez secured second place after Colombia's Mariana Imitola, while Rojas from Tachirense debuted third in the 10,000 meter elimination on the track.

Rojas' performance was due to prior preparation that included technical concentrations, competitive friction in Colombia and the support of a multidisciplinary team with coaches, psychologists and physiotherapists.

During the race, the athlete applied a strategy focused on energy conservation and the constant analysis of her rivals to ensure the universal podium.

With these individual victories, the national delegation finished 12th in the global medal table of the international tournament. The board of directors and the technical team celebrated the victory of the female skaters as a reflection of the high performance and projection of Venezuelan sports on a global scale.
