The Venezuelan delegation, made up of a group of vice-ministers of the Bolivarian Government, attended this Tuesday, May 21, at the Embassy of Iran in the Republic of Türkiye, to sign the Book of Condolences to honor the former president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, and other Iranian authorities, after his physical departure last Sunday, May 19.

The event was also attended by the Venezuelan ambassador accredited to Türkiye, Freddy Molina, with officials participating in the IV Binational Joint Commission, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published on its website.

Faced with such an unfortunate loss, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, sent his feelings of regret to the People and Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the event.

“We are in great pain to have to dismiss an exemplary person, an extraordinary leader of the world as he is and will forever be our brother Ebrahim, an excellent human being,” he said at the time through his account on the social network X.

After searching for the helicopter where the Persian president was traveling, accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, among other authorities and crew members, an Iranian delegation traveled to the border area to inaugurate a dam on the Aras River, in East Azerbaijan, in the presence of the president of that country, Ilham Aliyev.
