Venezuelan delegation participates in the 2024 International Open Astronomy Olympics in Russia

The Venezuelan delegation that will participate online in the III International Open Astronomy Olympics 2024 is ready for the development of tests.

The Venezuelan national team, which is part of the National Scientific Seed Program, attended the ceremony online this Sunday, September 14, at this event organized in Sochi, Russia.

The Creole delegation is made up of Santiago Chacón, from the state of Táchira, a student of Systems Engineering; Fabiola Martínez from the state of Lara, a student of Education - mention Physics; the bachelor's degree Shaloa Amelie Araujo, from the state of Guárico; Katrine Romero, a physics student from the state of Zulia; Ivanna Madriz, a physics student from the state of Mérida and Rosa Chacón, a bachelor's degree in science from the state of Zulia; Ivanna Madriz, a physics student from the state of Mérida and Rosa Chacón, a bachelor of science from the state of the Mérida state.

The leaders of the Venezuelan team Abraham Pisani, a physics student and José Sánchez, professor of Physics from the state of Mérida, will accompany the students in the different tests of the online competition, which will take place at the headquarters of the Venezuelan National Anonymous Telephone Company (CANTV), in San Martín, Caracas, according to a press release from the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology (MINCYT).

The astronomy event for young people, which will end on November 22, consists of four rounds: observation, practice, theory and testing. More than 20 countries are participating in these Olympics.
