The Venezuelan company Cakawa Chocolates won the silver and bronze medal at the Chocolate Salon in Versailles, Paris, where the Agency for the Valuation of Agricultural Products (AVPA) awarded it the prize, the Ministry of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs and International Trade reported on its official Instagram channel.

The silver medal was awarded to Alto Apure chocolate, made by producer Caren Izaguirre, a native of that state. On the other hand, the bronze medal went to chocolate with cacao from the Germplasm Bank, produced in Barlovento, Miranda state.

“This achievement pays tribute to the efforts of our producers, the richness of our soils and the artisanal tradition that positions us as world references for the best cocoa,” the foreign ministry said in its official statement.

In addition, the Platform of the Export Promotion Agency (VENEXPORTA) described the domestic product as a key to the agri-food engine, reflecting producers and the cocoa industry. In the same way, national cacao was described as an item with high potential for export and trade due to its historical value.

The firm Cakawa was honored in France with the Paris 2024 Gourmet Product award, awarded by the AVPA to its Barinas 71% and Patanemo 71% tablets. Both chocolates are made with Venezuelan cacao, an input highlighted by VENEXPORTA as the highest quality in the world thanks to its aroma and finesse.
