The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, held a telephone conversation this Tuesday with his counterpart from the Tunisian Republic, Mohamed Ali Nafti, in the context of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

Through his social networks, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister explained that, during the dialogue, they agreed on supporting Palestine and defending its rights, as well as on the commitment of their governments to multilateralism and the principles of the United Nations Charter.

In addition, “we agreed to deepen our bilateral ties, focusing on areas such as agriculture, tourism and trade, with the objective of consolidating this historic relationship for the benefit of our peoples,” Gil added.

Venezuela and Tunisia established diplomatic relations in 1965. Both nations have several memorandums of understanding signed in various areas of cooperation, including the electoral issue, with an agreement signed in 2021.
