Venezuela yields to Puerto Rico and stops its undefeated Caribbean Series

Venezuela's La Guaira
sharks cut their undefeated streak by falling 6-2 to Puerto Rico's
Criollos de Caguas, at IoanDepot Park in Miami.
This is the
first defeat of the Criollos in this 2024 edition of the Caribbean tournament, they came
with two victories in a row against the current champions of the Dominican Republic and Curaçao.
In the
first episode, those from Caguas opened the scoring. Juan Carlos Escarra won
the first one with a single and then scored after a shooting error by Ehire Adrianza.
Just for
the second inning, Bryan Torres hit a first-base round out that
allowed Emmanuel Rivera to go home. Then, in the fourth
episode, a three-pointer came from Nelson Velásquez, who scored after a sacrifice lift
by Jack López.
Puerto Rico
added more lines in the fifth and eighth innings. Vimael Machín was able to score
after a double massacre could not take place, while Nelson
Velásquez ruled things after taking advantage of a fairly high hit by Jack López.
As for Venezuelan
bats, in the low of the fourth quarter Alexi Amarista broke the zero of
