Venezuela under-15 defeated Chile and qualified for the semifinals of South American basketball

The national under-15 basketball team beat its Chilean counterpart 67-61 and qualified for the semifinals of South American basketball, which takes place in Ecuador.
In the facilities of the Cesar Fadul Dibb Coliseum, in the city of Pasaje, Vinotinto de las Alturas dominated a difficult Chile, which ended up being left out of competition.
The first quarter ended with a 19-19 tie. In the second quarter, Chile won 18-15. The third and fourth went to the Criollos 21-13 and 12-11, respectively.
The Venezuelan Julio Vásquez was the best of the game after contributing 27 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist; followed by Kevin Gutierrez with 21 points, 15 rebounds and 2 passes, and Gregori Gavidia with 11 points and 5 rebounds.
The Venezuelan team led by Alexis Cedres achieved its place in the semifinals with a record of 3 wins (Bolivia, Uruguay and Chile) and a single setback (Brazil).
