The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil Pinto, notified, through his Telegram channel, of Venezuela's decision to immediately revoke the approval granted to the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil to represent the interests of the Argentine Republic and its nationals in Venezuelan territory.

Gil added that this decision includes the custody of the premises of the diplomatic mission, including its assets and files.

Below is the full text of the statement:

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has taken the decision to immediately revoke the approval granted to the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil to represent the interests of the Argentine Republic and its nationals in Venezuelan territory, as well as the custody of the premises of the diplomatic mission, including its assets and archives, as announced in the joint communiqué dated August 5, 2024. Decision that has been notified to the states concerned through diplomatic channels.

Venezuela is forced to make this decision motivated by the evidence that exists about the use of the facilities of that diplomatic mission for the planning of terrorist activities and assassination attempts against the Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros and against the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodriguez Gómez, by the fugitives from the Venezuelan justice system who remain inside it.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, as the receiving State, takes this measure in compliance, and in full compliance, with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963.
