The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela rejected this Wednesday the statement issued by the United States Department of State (USA) regarding the recent deactivation of five conspiracies led by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), to destabilize the country and sow acts of violence.

In an official statement, released by Foreign Minister Yván Gil, the Bolivarian Government stated that the United States “has lost its moral compass” by “condemning Venezuela for taking actions within the framework of the Constitution and laws to preserve peace, while arresting truly peaceful demonstrators against the genocide in Gaza and seeking to curtail their freedom of expression.”

Below is the full text of the document:

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the State Department's cynical statement regarding the recent deactivation of terrorist operations that sought to destabilize the country and sow acts of violence.

The Government of the United States of America has lost its moral compass. On the one hand, it seeks to condemn Venezuela for taking actions within the framework of the Constitution and laws to preserve peace, while on the other hand, it arrests truly peaceful demonstrators against the genocide in Gaza and seeks to curtail their freedom of expression. With such a lack of coherence, it is not surprising that Washington advocates on behalf of the architects of the frustrated terrorist operations in Venezuela and that it even provides them with its complicit position.

Defending these destabilizing actions encourages violence and threatens the normal development of the 2024 electoral process. However, the decisive action taken by the Attorney General's Office, by the competent authorities, as well as the democratic conviction of the Venezuelan people, are and will be the sufficient guarantee of our electoral process, which, despite threats, obvious interventionism and imperialist blackmail, will take place in the country with the full exercise of its sovereignty and with guarantees of peace.
