The Government of the Bolivarian
Republic of Venezuela rejected on Tuesday the
unilateral coercive measures imposed by Canada against officials of the
South American nation, an action that represents the Canadian government's subservience to the interests of the United States
(USA).
In a statement, released by Foreign Minister Yván Gil, the Bolivarian Government noted
that these extortion measures, “directed against legitimate officials of
our country, are nothing more than a failed attempt to pressure Venezuela,
demonstrating the humiliation and international discrediting of the
Canadian government, which is reduced to acting as a diminished pawn subordinate to the U.S. government.”

The
Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela strongly rejects the Extortion
Measures against Venezuelan officials, which the Government of
Canada seeks to impose, once again, an action that confirms, once again, its subservient role as a slave to the imperial interests of the United States.
These
illegal actions, directed against legitimate officials of our country, are nothing more
than a failed attempt to pressure Venezuela, demonstrating the international humiliation and
discredit of the Canadian government, which is reduced to acting
as a diminished pawn and subordinate to the U.S. government.
While Canada
kneels before Washington's orders, the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela remains firm, sovereign and unwavering, defending the will of the Venezuelan people and the rule
of law, without paying attention to external blackmail or shameful interference.
