The Ambassador Alternate Permanent Representative of Venezuela to the United Nations (UN), Joaquín Pérez Ayesterán, said that the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reiterates its solidarity with the Palestinian People, its support for the just cause and its condemnation of genocide by Israel.

This was stated by Pérez Ayesterán, through his account on the social network X, in which he reported that “we participated in a meeting of the United Nations Committee for the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, in which the Secretary General of #ONU and the Representative of @UNRWA provided updated information on the serious situation in which persists in Gaza”.

He stated that Venezuela reiterated “its solidarity with the Palestinian people; its support for their just cause; its condemnation of the ongoing genocide.”

He stressed that he “hopes that the recent ruling of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) will serve to achieve a ceasefire; to put an end to the cycle of impunity and to such a prolonged and painful conflict.”

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued an interim ruling in which it has asked Israel to adopt “immediate and effective” measures to prevent genocide against the Palestinian people, in connection with the armed conflict that has been taking place in the Gaza Strip since last October.
