The Delegation of the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela in the dialogues with the United States government, reported what was discussed, this in response to interested and biased leaks from some media outlets in the North American nation.
In a Communiqué issued this Friday, the Bolivarian Government Delegation for Dialogue specified that last Tuesday, April 9, a meeting was held between the delegations in Mexico, at which what was agreed in the Doha dialogues on migration and the lifting of sanctions was reviewed.
“Based on what was agreed in Doha, we point out the failure of the US administration to comply with the agreed schedule for lifting sanctions,” the statement said.
Below is the full text of the statement:
The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, faced with the inexplicable and interested leaks in American media and agencies of meetings classified as private, considers it necessary to make some clarifications:
1) Last Tuesday, April 9, in Mexico City, capital of the United Mexican States, a meeting was held between the delegations of the Government of the United States of America and the Government of Venezuela.
2) At that meeting, we reviewed what was agreed in the Doha dialogues between the two delegations on migration issues and the lifting of sanctions. Based on what was agreed in Doha, we point out that the US administration has failed to comply with the agreed timetable for lifting sanctions.
3) We were emphatic in rejecting any form of interference in the affairs of Venezuela.
4) The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela denounced the violent actions that extremist sectors plan and carry out in Venezuela, under the protection of foreign agencies.
5) We expressed the unanimous consensus of Venezuelan society in demanding the absolute lifting of all sanctions against Venezuela, which affect our right to full and peaceful life and that attack international law and the United Nations charter.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela insists on its policy of dialogue with the countries of the world in strict respect of their sovereignty and independence and with absolute adherence to the constitution and laws of our Republic.
