Venezuela registers 75 earthquakes during the week of October 2 to 8

A total of 75 earthquakes were detected in Venezuela during the week of October 2 to 8, 2026, according to the weekly seismicity report released by the Venezuelan Foundation for Seismological Research (FUNVISIS).
The events were recorded in the region between latitude 5° to 14° N and longitude 59° to 74° W, with quantities ranging from 1.5 to 4.8.
The report details that most of the earthquakes were located in the Western region, with 39 events, followed by the Central region with 29 and the Eastern region with 7. By magnitude range, 51 earthquakes were lower than 3.0; 22 were between 3.0 and 4.0; and 2 between 4.0 and 5.0.
FUNVISIS reiterated that earthquakes cannot be predicted and that planning is the main tool for dealing with them. The institution recommended that the population consult the cumulative seismicity map on their official channels.
