The Venezuelan government received this Friday, at the facilities of the “Simon Bolivar” International Airport in Maiquetia, new shipments of humanitarian assistance from Brazil and the United States (USA). These civil supplies are strictly intended to complement and strengthen comprehensive care and direct distribution plans aimed at families residing in the areas that suffered the greatest material impacts due to the seismic emergency recorded on June 24.

The Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs for International Communication, Rander Peña, and for Latin America, Mauricio Rodríguez, were the authorities responsible for formally receiving the supplies at the national air terminal.

The representatives of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry emphasized that the reception of these resources is part of the channels of international solidarity activated to consolidate a more robust and efficient logistical response to the complex challenges imposed by the natural event.

In the breakdown of international support, the Brazilian government dispatched a flight loaded with a total of 15 tons of essential food for community sustenance. For its part, the contribution managed from the United States consisted of two flights that jointly carried 77.28 tons of essential supplies, which were technically distributed in a first shipment of 45.8 tons and a second shipment of 31.48 tons for basic assistance.

This important deployment of international cooperation confirms the will for technical and humanitarian assistance necessary to guarantee the protection and social stabilization of the most vulnerable populations following the earthquake disaster.
