The Venezuelan coffee sector estimates that, by the end of 2026, the projected harvest will reach a production of 4 million 750 thousand 550 quintals, said the president of the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Venezuela, Andrés Álvarez.
In statements replicated by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), he indicated that the country is currently in 22nd place in the world production of green coffee and estimated that “by the end of 2026, it could reach a production close to 4 million 750 thousand 550 quintals.”
“All those who had left the sector returned, and out of 1,900,000 quintals we are going to close at 4,750,000 quintals at the end of this harvest in 2026, so definitely the steps being taken are decisive,” he said.
Álvarez also asserted that with this increase in harvest volumes, Venezuela seeks to climb to the Top 11 of the main coffee producing countries worldwide.
“This growth is supported by the quality of the sector and the expansion of its foreign marketing channels; currently, Venezuelan coffee beans are exported to more than 21 countries,” he said.
Álvarez said that the export of coffee from the state of Lara to China represents an opportunity to expand the Venezuelan presence in new destinations.
