The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela was present at the African Energy Week, held at the Cape Town International Convention Center, from October 12 to 16.

During the event, spaces for dialogue and exchange were promoted aimed at strengthening international cooperation ties and moving towards balanced global energy development, which favors the security of the supply of hydrocarbons, the stability of markets and shared interests between nations.

In this context, Venezuela presented its strategy for the development of the oil and gas industry during the Venezuela Global Investment Forum, to a wide representation of leaders and actors in the energy sector.

The Forum was introduced by the African Energy Chamber, being a suitable space for the Deputy Minister of Commercial Policy of the Ministry of the People's Power of Hydrocarbons, Ricardo Gómez; and the rector of the Venezuelan Hydrocarbons University, Celia Bejarano, to present the potential of cooperation in energy matters, highlighting the interest of African countries in training in oil and gas.

The exhibition also highlighted the operating results for the first half of 2026, a period in which, according to the data presented, crude oil production exceeded 1.2 million barrels per day and exports of crude oil and petroleum products increased by 19.7%.

During the development of the activity, spaces were promoted for meeting and developing the integration and promotion of the energy sector in Venezuela and Africa.

At African Energy Week, Venezuela presented an agenda that integrates productive development, investment mechanisms, specialized training and international cooperation, with the objective of promoting new alliances for the future of its hydrocarbon industry.
