From March 8 to 16, the International Boxing Association (IBA) Women's Boxing World Championship is held in the city of Niš, Republic of Serbia, in which 500 athletes from around the world compete in 12 categories.

Venezuela participates with 8 female athletes and 4 coaches, accompanied by the president of the Venezuelan Boxing Federation, Edgar Muñoz, who assured that the Venezuelan national team has a multidisciplinary team of talented boxers.

During the day, in which 52 countries are competing, the Venezuelan athletes stood out for their high technical level, with 3 medals being contested.

During their stay in the city of Niš, the Venezuelan team is visited by the accredited ambassador to the European country, Jaidys Briceño.

The IBA not only promotes competition, but it also promotes equity with cash prizes and development funding, allowing more women to remain in sports. Their commitment includes providing amateurs with opportunities to try themselves in professional environments, paving the way to successful careers.
