Venezuela participates in the II Global Digital Forum in Moscow

Venezuela is participating in the II Global Digital Forum that takes place in the city of Moscow, Russian Federation, with delegations from 110 countries and more than 700 technological experts, the Venezolana de Televisión portal reported.

The national representation is headed by the Deputy Minister for the Development of Information and Communication Technologies of the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology (MINCYT), Raúl Hernández, accompanied by the diplomatic team of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the Eurasian nation.

Hernández highlighted the value of exchanging experiences in science, technology and innovation. In this regard, he held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of Russia, Bella Cherkesova, where they discussed bilateral agendas.

He specified that “we have been working on what is the development, the implementation of policies together for the application of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity in a secure way, in different strategic areas of both governments.”

He recalled that Venezuela has been promoting the National Artificial Intelligence Plan since 2024, which promotes “different activities and different programs throughout the national territory”, in addition to the presentation to the National Assembly of the Artificial Intelligence Bill, approved in the first discussion.

During the institutional agenda, the delegation visited the Skolkovo Technological Innovation Center, where it learned about developments in industrial augmented reality, 3D screens and AI applications for social care, strengthening international cooperation.

Venezuela's participation in the II Global Digital Forum reaffirms the commitment of the national Government to continue strengthening the knowledge economy, digitalization and social innovation for national technological development.
