The president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Nicolás Maduro, installed this Thursday, May 16, the National Campaign Command “Our Venezuela” ahead of the presidential election on July 28.

At the event held at the Humboldt Hotel, in the Waraira Repano, he stressed that “we are going to take a very important step to advance with advantage, superiority and mettle on the stage of defending our country from the threat to which it is subjected every day and preserving all the advances and achievements of the struggle we have achieved”.

He said that “we are going to chart the future of the 21st century and win, just as we are going to win the battle of July 28, the day when Commander Hugo Chávez is certainly 70 years old.”

In this regard, as a first action, he reported on the appointment of leader Jorge Rodríguez, as general coordinator, of the National Campaign Command “Our Venezuela”, which will have two teams: one combined and the other sectoral.

He specified that the central coordination will include leaders Diosdado Cabello, Héctor Rodríguez, Delcy Rodríguez, Luis Reyes Reyes, Nahun Fernández and Cilia Flores, as well as two executive secretaries: Vanesa Montero and Grecia Colmenares.

In addition, as for the main spokesperson for the Command, he indicated that it will be in charge of Rafael Lacava, Genesis Garvett, Luis José Marcano, Gabriela Jiménez, Jorge Arreaza and Blanca Eekhout.

He emphasized that the title “Our Venezuela” is the concept, “ours, not that of the gringos, of the surnames, of the oligarchy, it is the Venezuela of the People, the sole owner and principal of this country, to guarantee sovereignty.”

Maduro also emphasized that social networks can censor “whoever wants to, with censorship or without censorship we are going to beat them”, by denouncing that social networks have their accounts censored in these communication spaces.

In this regard, he urged the grassroots, militants and management structures of the red awning, that in the mobilizations and activities of the electoral campaign, they must “mobilize locally, convince the people in their neighborhood, in their corner, in their urban planning”.

Maduro said that the Bolivarian Revolution is a winner, but we must work to guarantee the victory of the next electoral contest.

For this reason, he instructed the activation of a powerful communication method that allows “to go to the forefront of the world and demonstrate to that world that controls social networks that with Venezuela they cannot and that we will build a new system: Media, Streets, Networks, Walls and Radio Bemba”.

When referring to the calls for the mobilizations, he indicated that they are carried out through the social network WhatsApp “or by Radio Bemba”, and there are massive marches, “but the work doesn't end there, there it starts with the few videos, photos that need to be released, we have good updated campaign music, we have to disseminate”.

For his part, the first vice-president of the PSUV and member of the “Our Venezuela” Campaign Command, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, explained the new 5x5 strategy for the presidential elections on July 28.

“Here we are going to test a new strategy that we have already added to the traditional 1x10 strategy that used to be carried out only by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, now we have a 5x5 proposal, which is a strength that goes beyond the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, we have to follow it constantly, permanently,” he said.

He affirmed that everything placed there “has to be real, it has to have solid bases so that the results are similar to what we have and in this task of adding up, of building this new force for the elections”, so he urged the revolutionary leadership to go out in search of all those who have never expressed a political position.

“There is no one left over, everyone is needed, including those who have never and never expressed a political position (...) We have to go knocking on doors and it has to be a close relationship, of solidarity, of affection, of accompaniment, of companionship, not only because of the electoral issue, because this has to serve us for many other things, the social care of the partner, the permanent affection”, he emphasized.
