The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, announced this Tuesday the decision of the Bolivarian Government to limit to three the number of diplomats accredited to embassies of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, France and Italy in Venezuela, “in response to the hostile behavior of the Governments” of these countries after the inauguration of constitutional president Nicolás Maduro.

Through his Telegram channel, Gil explained that this measure must be complied with within 48 hours and added that diplomats must have written authorization from the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry “to travel more than 40 kilometers from Plaza Bolívar in Caracas, ensuring strict performance of their duties.”

Venezuela requires respect for sovereignty and self-determination, principles established in the Charter of the United Nations, especially for those subordinated to Washington's guidelines,” said the head of Venezuelan diplomacy , after holding a meeting with the representatives of these countries in Caracas.

Finally, the Foreign Minister emphasized that “the Bolivarian Government will continue to take necessary actions, in accordance with International Law, to guarantee its stability, sovereignty and the path to peace and prosperity achieved with its own efforts.”
