Venezuela expressed its solidarity with the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in the face of a magnitude 7.7 earthquake

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela regretted, through an official statement, the human and material losses caused by the earthquake that shook the city of Sagaing, in the center of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

The text was published by the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, on his Telegram channel and points out that this earthquake impacted Thailand, China, Bangladesh, Laos and India, causing fatalities in Myanmar and Thailand, as well as severe damage to the region's infrastructure.

Below is the full text of the statement:

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela regrets the human and material losses caused by the earthquake that shook the city of Sagaing, in the center of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and whose impact extended to Thailand, China, Bangladesh, Laos and India, causing fatalities in Myanmar and Thailand, as well as heavy damage to the region's infrastructure.

Faced with this tragic event, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela extends its words of solidarity to the affected families and raises its prayers for the recovery of the injured, as well as the prompt and complete normalization of the affected areas, for which we encourage the fundamental and exceptional efforts of rescue and assistance for the victims of the incident.
