This Saturday, the representative of the Delegation for Dialogue on behalf of the National Government, Héctor Rodríguez, asserted that presidential elections will be held in the country in accordance with the Constitution.

“Let the world know that Venezuelan institutions, that Venezuelan democracy, that the Venezuelan people and the Bolivarian Revolution accept neither threats nor blackmail. In Venezuela there will be presidential elections this year as required by the Constitution and with its electoral guarantees,” Rodríguez emphasized during a press conference.

He stressed that what does harm the Dialogue is that political actors of the Venezuelan right are betting on assassination and the coup d'etat.

“If they really want to support the path of peace, they have to assume their responsibilities and condemn acts of violence. Dialogue is not meant to legitimize blockades, sanctions or assassination attempts,” he emphasized.

He reminded this political sector, which is committed to violence, that in the country there is a rule of law that will guarantee justice, peace and democracy. “We insist: In Venezuela there will be elections with candidates who comply with Venezuelan laws.”

In addition, on behalf of the Venezuelan people, he demanded the lifting of sanctions to accelerate Venezuela's economic process and guarantee the country's well-being.
