Venezuela, through a statement issued this Monday, September 2, denounced to the international community that the repeated criminal practice of the United States government of illegally confiscating an aircraft used by the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, cannot be described as anything other than piracy and is justified in the coercive measures that it imposes unilaterally and illegally around the world.

The statement was published by the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, on his account on the social network Telegram, whose text indicates that this action reveals that there is no constitutional state in the world that is immune to illegal actions perpetrated against international law.

On the other hand, he indicated that Washington pressured the government of the Dominican Republic with its military and economic power to “serve as an accomplice in its criminal acts.”

He points out that illegal operations such as these expose the falsehood of the supposed rules-based order”, which favors the “law of the strongest” over international law.

The document also accused that the U.S. government creates rules tailored to its convenience and interests, to justify its immoral procedures.

It emphasizes that "Venezuela reserves the right to take legal action to redress this offense against the nation, as well as the damages caused by the unilateral coercive measures emanated by the United States”.
